What other instruments do you move besides pianos?

Alongside pianos, we transport pipe and electronic organs, harps, harpsichords, double basses, drum kits and other large or delicate instruments, as well as amplifiers, recording equipment and studio gear. Upon request, each is wrapped, cushioned and secured according to its size and fragility.

Do you offer storage for instruments?

Yes. We provide clean, dry and secure storage for short or long-term needs. This is particularly useful when there is a gap between moving out and moving in, and our storage environment helps protect wooden instruments from the damp and temperature changes that can affect them.

How far in advance should I book an instrument move?

For straightforward local moves we can often work to short timescales, while larger or long-distance moves, hoisting jobs and multi-instrument relocations are best booked further ahead so we can survey access and plan properly. Whenever you contact us, we will work towards the date you need.

Can you move a piano up or down stairs, or through tight spaces?

Yes. Our crews are trained and equipped to move pianos over stairs, around tight turns and through narrow doorways using specialist trolleys, skids and lifting straps. Where a staircase or doorway will not allow safe passage, we can arrange to hoist the instrument through a window or balcony instead.

Will my piano need tuning after it has been moved?

A piano will usually need retuning after a move. The movement itself and, more importantly, the change in room temperature and humidity can affect the tuning. It is best to let the instrument settle and acclimatise to its new surroundings for a couple of weeks before booking a tuner, so the tuning holds.

Do you move all types of piano?

Yes. We move upright pianos, baby grand and full grand pianos, concert grands, digital and electric pianos, and antique instruments. Pianos vary enormously in weight, from around 150 kilograms for many uprights to over 450 kilograms for a concert grand, and we bring the right equipment and crew size to match the instrument.
